Why Google is not showing your website in search results

A practical diagnosis of crawling, indexing, relevance and competition when your business website is difficult to find on Google.

Start by separating indexing from ranking

A page may be indexed but rank poorly for a competitive search. Another page may not be indexed at all. Search Console's URL Inspection and indexing reports can help distinguish those situations for a verified property.

Check whether Google can access the page

Review HTTP responses, robots directives, canonical tags, internal links and whether the page needs a login. A sitemap is a discovery aid, not an indexing guarantee.

Look for duplicate or thin pages

Pages that repeat the same text with a different town name offer little unique value. Make important pages genuinely useful, with distinct service information, original examples and answers to real customer questions.

Match the searcher's question

Someone searching for a price estimate may need a clear cost explanation. Someone searching for emergency service needs immediate contact details. A page targeting the wrong intent can struggle even with technically correct metadata.

Build a clear internal path

Link from the homepage and related service pages to the content that answers each question. Use descriptive anchor text and avoid hiding useful pages several clicks deep.

Set realistic expectations

Crawling and indexing can take time, and search positions fluctuate. Track impressions, clicks and qualified inquiries over time rather than promising a number-one ranking.
